Connect your WhatsApp Business account
WhautX connects to the WhatsApp Cloud API through Meta's embedded signup. Most accounts are live in under 10 minutes.
Before you start
- A Meta Business account (business.facebook.com).
- A phone number that is not currently active on the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business consumer app.
- Admin access to your WhautX workspace (OWNER or ADMIN role).
Step by step

Open WhatsApp settings
In WhautX, go to Settings → WhatsApp and click Connect account. This launches Meta's embedded signup in a popup — no manual token copying required.

Sign in to Meta & pick a business
Log in with the Facebook account that manages your business, then select (or create) the Meta Business account and WhatsApp Business account you want to link. WhautX only requests the permissions it needs to send and receive messages on your behalf.

Add and verify your phone number
Choose the phone number for this WhatsApp Business account and verify it via SMS or voice call. Once verified, Meta assigns it a phone number ID that WhautX stores automatically.

Finish — the account appears in WhautX
When the popup closes, your account shows up on the WhatsApp settings page with a green status dot. WhautX registers the webhook with Meta for you, so inbound messages and delivery statuses start flowing immediately.
Get your first template approved
To start a conversation (rather than reply within the 24-hour window), you must use a Meta-approved message template. Create one in Templates, choose a category (Marketing, Utility, or Authentication), add your body text with {{1}} placeholders, and submit. Approval usually takes a few minutes to a few hours. Once approved, the template is available to campaigns and the API.
Number already on WhatsApp?
A phone number can only be registered with one WhatsApp product at a time. If your number is currently active on the consumer WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app, delete that account first (or use a fresh number) before connecting it to the Cloud API.
